Compiling segments

In many cases, it will be necessary to integrate many seperate audio recordings into a single production file. Let's say there are four different files to integrate: an introduction, a news story, a music program, and a conclusion.

To complete our production, we need to import each of these tracks into Audacity. Order doesn't matter, as we can move and edit pieces once they've been imported. The steps are:

  • Move all audio files to the same computer system
  • Open Audacity and create a new project
  • Import all audio tracks into the same file - click on Project >> Import
  • Select the files you would like to import into the project, accept
  • Reorder audio tracks
  • Move audio into proper play positions
  • Export to a single file (Wav or MP3; remember all submitted file must be in MP3 format)
