Deleting unneeded audio
Removing unnecessary audio from your recording is perhaps the most basic of editing, and probably the most important.
Step 1: Let's take the example below: "How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could... uhm... chuck wood?" As we want this to be a fantastic, earth-shattering broadcast, we will need to remove the noisome "uhhhm" from our audio.
Step 2: To remove this awful audio, I'll highlight the portion I'd like to remove (the "uhhhmm") with my mouse, and hit the delete key on my keyboard. To ensure I wasn't deleting any of my beloved woodchuck, I could have pressed the green "Play" button to listen to my highlighted audio. And, were I to have made an error and realized only after the fact, I could have undone my edit by clicking on the "Edit" menu, and the "Undo" option.
Step 3: The resulting audio track now excludes "uhh..."
